Books: The Biology of Cancer

Large Image
Last week’s issue of Nature has a book review worth noting, on The Biology of Cancer. Written by the eminent cancer biologist Robert Weinberg, it looks to be the new authoritative work on the topic, expanding upon his seminal 2000 review (written with Douglas Hanahan): The Hallmarks of Cancer.

The book comes laden with expectations, mainly a result of Weinberg’s reputation as a cancer biologist and a teacher. The author has borne the weight. Each chapter unfolds as a fascinating tale, from the historical perspective, through key experiments, to interpretation and future challenges…

… and I’ve just added it to my amazon wishlist, with intent to get it as a reference text at some point in the future.
