Operation Migration: Saving Whooping Cranes

If you haven’t heard of Operation Migration, it’s an effort to promote the conservation of migratory species through innovative research, education and partnership, and to help Whooping Crane populations recover from their critically endangered status in particular.

They’re short on funds this year, and making a call for donations, to help raise whooping crane chicks, release them into the wild, and train them to migrate and meet up with other cranes in the wild. It’s really a fascinating program, and the story behind it all is here. (HT: Mike)
